Asus rt-n66u wireless router detected my verizon uml295 usb modem but i still don't have internet access. my gateway laptop detects the wifi with a strong signal.. Thank you for the reply. the asus router is designed for usb modems specifically (or as a repeated but you lose speed doing it that way). i have been reading a lot of your replies and even the vzw staff trust your answers.... I have an asus rt-ac68u with 3.0.0.4.374.39 for firmware. i also have a pantech uml295 4g usb modem on the verizon network. the modem is configured for ip pass through - ippt. the modem is tested on the computer, works fine. i even left it on and plugged into the router for the night before asking. Add 3g/4g connectivity to your asus router -- that's an extra way to get online in case lan or wi-fi are not available. asus routers with usb ports and fast setup make this easy.. Usb tethering mode, follow the steps: refer to picture 3 connect your android phone to asus router with a usb cable. select usb device to [android phone] and click [apply]. manually enable usb tethering on your android phone..
