Gopro 720p 60fps File Size

After i convert the gopro files to .avi with the gopro software the file sizes do start to become different and in line with expectations based on resolution and frame rate (last column, but i didn't convert all of them and on first try the 2.7k and 4k modes didn't want to convert at all).. To me it seems that if the camera is taking double the frames in 60 fps, the file will be larger for clips of the same length because it's capturing more pictures. but that's not what happens. clips in 60 and 30 fps are exactly the same size and it estimates the same remaining record time.. I need your opinion: can you tell the difference between these two clips shot in 720p at 30fps and 60fps? watch in 720p if you can! your feedback will help me decide how to shoot my future gopro.

The only real advantage to 60fps is if you plan to use slo mo clips when you edit. if not, then use the 30fps for smaller file size and more files on memory stick. hope that helps.. What is hevc? high efficiency video coding (hevc) – also known as h.265 – is a video compression standard that allows gopro to capture large video content, such as 4k60 and 1080p240, at roughly half the file size with equivalent image quality.. Can someone explain why 24fps causes larger files on the same settings than 30fps? i get over an hour extra time at 30fps compared to 24 on my 32gb. ask a question gopro support hub find a solution. share a solution. ask a question. stay stoked. announcements. is your gopro gear up to date? check to see if it is on.
